Privacy policy
Short version: we collect what you type into a form so Jared can get back to you, and we count page views. No cookies for visitors, no advertising, and nothing that identifies you.
Last updated September 2, 2026
JR's Carts and Cuts is a mobile golf cart and mower repair business in Kalispell, Montana. This policy covers https://jrscartsandcuts.com and describes what actually happens on it, not what a template says usually happens.
What we collect, and only when you send it
Nothing is collected by browsing. Every piece of personal information on this site arrives because you typed it into a form and pressed a button.
- Contact form. Your name, email, phone number, what you are asking about, and any cart details you add.
- Selling a cart. Your name, email and phone number, the details and photos of the cart, and on the paid plans a billing address so Jared can invoice you.
- Asking about a cart for sale. Your name, email, optional phone number and your message.
- Cart barn registration. Your name, email, phone number, your cart barn floor and space number, and anything you tell us about the cart.
What we do with it
Jared reads it and gets back to you. That is the whole purpose. It is stored so he can find it again, and he is the only person who sees it.
We do not sell it, rent it, trade it, or hand it to anyone for marketing. There is no mailing list on this site, so signing up for one is not something that can happen to you by accident.
Photos have their location data removed
Phone cameras record GPS coordinates inside photo files. When you upload photos of a cart, every one is re-encoded and stripped of that metadata before it is stored, so publishing a picture of your cart does not publish where you took it.
Screened listings keep your number private
If you choose screened contact when you list a cart, your phone number and email are never sent to a visitor's browser. Buyers message through the site and Jared passes on the ones worth your time. Choose the standard listing instead and your number is on the ad on purpose, because that is what you asked for.
Counting page views
We count how many times each page is opened, because Jared wants to know whether the site is doing anything useful. Three things are recorded and there is not a fourth: which page was opened, which site you arrived from, and whether you were on a phone or a computer.
For the site you arrived from we store the name only, so we can see that somebody came from Facebook or from a search engine. We do not store which post or which search.
What is deliberately not recorded: your IP address, any cookie or identifier, your browser's user agent string, or anything that links one page view to another. There is no way to work out that two views were the same person, which means there is no way to work out that either of them was you.
This is counted by this site, for this site. No analytics company is involved and nothing is shared with one.
What we do not do
- No advertising networks, no tracking pixels, no remarketing.
- No Google Analytics or any other third party analytics service.
- No profiles, no sessions, no following anyone between websites.
- No third party scripts running in your browser on ordinary pages.
- Typefaces are served from this site rather than fetched from Google, so loading a page does not tell Google you were here.
Cookies
One, and it is not for you. When Jared signs into the admin area a signed session cookie is set so he stays signed in for twelve hours. Ordinary visitors are never issued a cookie by this site, including for the page view counting described above.
The three places data leaves this site
- The course map. Map tiles come from OpenStreetMap, so opening that page shares your IP address with their servers, the same as visiting any map. Every other page on this site loads nothing from anywhere else.
- The VIN lookup. Numbers are checked against the federal NHTSA vehicle database. That request is made by our server, not your browser, so your IP address is not sent to them.
- Notification email. When you submit a form, an email is sent to Jared through an email provider telling him to go and look. It contains your name and contact details so he knows who is waiting.
How long it is kept
Enquiries and messages are kept while they are useful, which for a repair business is a few years: knowing what he did to your cart in 2024 is how he helps you in 2027. An ad comes down after its run ends, 60 days on a free listing and 90 on a paid one, and the record stays afterwards. Ask and it goes sooner.
Getting your information removed
Call or email and ask. There is no form and no process, because there is one person and he will just do it. We will remove what we are not required to keep, and tell you plainly if something has to stay, such as a record attached to an invoice.
Children
This site is for people buying, selling and servicing golf carts. It is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Security, honestly stated
Traffic to this site is encrypted, seller contact details are never included in the public pages, and the admin area is behind a password with a lockout after repeated failed attempts. No small business site can promise perfect security, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. If something ever went wrong we would tell the people affected.
Changes
If this policy changes the date at the top changes with it. We are not going to email you about a wording tweak.
